The Brief

Context

Nearform built a successful Covid vaccination tracking app for the Irish government, and saw an opportunity to turn it into a global product. My mission was to design a refreshed, government-agnostic version of the app that Nearform could use to win contracts with governments around the world.

The world was in peak Covid crisis when Nearform built its original vaccination tracking app for the Irish government. Its success caught the attention of other governments requesting similar initiatives, and Nearform saw the opportunity to turn a single-government app into a reusable global product.

Discovery

Building on what already existed

Rather than start from zero, I leveraged the progress and research already done on the original Irish app, diving straight into designing a version that worked for any government.

I built on the original app to create new user flows, a component library and a working prototype, bringing new features and workflows to appeal to a broader market.

Validation

Testing assumptions with the team

Using the flows, component library and prototype, I tested my assumptions and ideas directly with the team to refine the application.
